The first book in the series was amazing and this one was right on par with the first. First off Rylee is just plain amazing and such a strong female lead. Her humor and wits make the books great in my opinion. I love to see a woman in charge, who knows how to get things done, and has a sense of humor doing it. I love all the supernatural creatures and how they are described. The describe of the Trolls hiding/living area was amazing. Alex is how I imagine my dogs would be if they could talk and be half human like. Just plain goofy, completely loving, yet crazily protective. I would recommend this book to anyone who like a all around badass female lead, supernatural creatures, and likes a book with some humor. As soon as I finished this book I rolled right onto book number 3 in the series.

Immune A Rylee Adamson Novel Book 2 edition by Shannon Mayer Mystery Thriller Suspense eBooks Reviews

I didn't feel that the first book was worth five stars. However I do hope that the shortness of these two books is not a trend. Just as you are really getting into the story and the characters, the story is done! Not only do you feel that you walked off a cliff with no mattress below to catch you, but you feel cheated out of enough story to leave you feeling somewhat satisfied. Personally I don't like stories that leave one hanging with no feeling of resolution, at least to some small degree. I do hope that this is not going to be a constant insofar as this series of books is concerned.
I did feel more engaged by the second book Immune, than I did by the first book Priceless. Could be because I knew more about the characters, but if enough had been put into the first book, I don't think that would have been a problem. More please, and more story than these two... 🙄
I have always loved the beliefs in the other worldly beings. In this series you find Werewolves, and unicorns, Harpies and trolls among all the others that you've only every seen portrayed but never walking our streets. This author can draw you into believing that all of this exists on a level that only a few can see. This book brings to the front the feeling of knowing that the FBI and our government know that there is a whole realm out there that exists and they fight it daily.
That with some magic from a witch you can change that werewolf into a large black dog so he can walk among you. I am hooked and will continue following this Raylee ( who is a supernatural tracker ) of lost children. Children with special abilities. Children wanted for sacrifices and their abilities passed down to them. That spells are cast to change perceptions and to fight the evil demons from the underworld.
Dive in and you won't be able to stop reading.
I waited a long time to try this series, it was constantly recommended to me via . But I haven't met anyone who had read any of her books so I was hesitant. I recently saw that they were on sale so I took a chance and snatched them up. And OH BOY!! I am so glad that I did!! I am a huge fan of urban fantasy and paranormal romance. I have read some that are darker and intensely sexy series (like Karen Marie Moning's Fever series-highly recommend that one) and some gorgeously written, beautifully emotional, epic series that has adventure as well as romance like Elizabeth Hunter's books. But this series is equally wonderful in its own way. The books aren't huge tomes (yet, I have only read the 2 so far), so they read quickly. But each story gets your adrenaline going with action, and the underlying story between Rylee and Liam. The stories have been very funny, I truly like Rylee's POV. Her inner dialog is exactly what I would be thinking. But something that I haven't seen before is how she creates different types of characters. In this world, if it can be imagined, it can exist as a potential supernatural enemy or ally. But nothing is typical, what you know of werewolves, vampires, trolls and so many more fantasy creatures is completely unique in these books. So I guess I should sum it up to say that If you are looking for something to easily get wrapped up in and you love PNR, then get on it. I need to be going…Book #3 is waiting…;)
I often download recommended reads from independent authors and many times find a diamond in the rough. This series is definitely one great find. I gave Priceless, the first book in this series a try and then went to see if there was a sequel without coming up for air. Immune, the sequel, was just as entertaining, fast paced, funny and sexy. Although it is rather short for a book coming in at under 200 pages, the author has all of the essentials and there isn't a wasted moment. The only thing I wanted when I was done was a third installment. The heroine, Rylee, is a lot like Kate Daniels for you urban fantasy fans and although no one comes close to Kate, Rylee is a kick butt character to read.

Rylee Adamson is immune to most magical attacks and she's a Tracker. She can find anyone anywhere, with the exception to the most important missing person, her sister, who was mysteriously taken over 10 years ago. Since that event, she's used her abilities to fight supernatural bad guys and help find missing children. She brings them home whether they're dead or alive, and for the most part, it's not usually a happy ending. FBI agent, Liam O'Shea always thought Rylee was responsible for her missing sister and dogged her for over 10 years, but after the events of the first book, he realizes what an amazing and dedicated woman she is dealing with a whole world of supernaturals he never knew existed. He's joined a special arcane division of the FBI and wants Rylee to be his partner, but Rylee has a whole set of insecurities to deal with and a nasty venom that's killing her. As the two work together with some great sidekicks, Rylee and Liam grow closer together to help out some friends, cure Riley, and find a missing child before it's too late.

This book has lots of action, violence, sexuality and a great cast of interesting characters that include harpies, trolls, demons, vampires, daywalkers, ogres, witches, werewolves and psychics so far. Each individual mystery is part of a greater series plotline that sucks you in and doesn't seem to let go. I am definitely looking forward to future installments and recommend it.
